Overview
Based in Québec, Canada, I’ve worked as a designer in the Marching Arts industry for more than 35 years. I love to collaborate and design shows with other creative people. I appreciate the creative exchanges that occur with directors, choreographers, composers, arrangers, dancers, and musicians.
My experience in the marching arts began as a performer at age nine. I “aged out” as a member of the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps in 1988.
My professional experience began in the 1980s as a designer and staff coordinator for various Canadian drum and bugle corps. In the 1990s, I designed for several drum corps in Québec, Canada; I was the drill designer for Dimension Drum and Bugle Corps (a Drum Corps International (DCI) Division 2 finalist) and, for Les Étoiles (a DCI Division 1 semi-finalist).
I’ve designed for numerous marching bands in Canada and the United States. My clients perform at the local and state levels, and in University Interscholastic League (UIL), USBands, and Bands of America. Since 2012, I’ve been drill designer for Dripping Springs High School in Texas and have been a winter guard adjudicator since 2001.
I live in Québec, Canada, with my wife, Julie, and sons, William and Nathan. I also own a graphic design studio called Walsh Design.
