Overview

Through my company, RJ Visual Design, I have spent many years designing drill and shows for marching bands, indoor drumlines, and collegiate marching bands across the country. Based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, I have worked as a drill designer and instructor at a large private lesson studio since 2015, supporting performing ensembles at every level.

My drum corps experience includes serving as Brass/Visual Caption Head for the Colt Cadets and as a visual instructor and Assistant Caption Head for The Cavaliers, where I was also a performing member from 2003 to 2008. I was most recently named Visual Caption Head at Music City Drum and Bugle Corps.

My client work spans a wide range of programs, from middle school and high school bands across Texas, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Ohio, and Oregon, to collegiate programs including Idaho State University and California University of Pennsylvania, as well as indoor drumlines and drum corps at the national level.

I am an active adjudicator and clinician, with formal training through the Marching Roundtable Judges Academy. I am also proudly associated with Kappa Kappa Psi Honorary Band Fraternity, the Texas Music Educators Association, and the United States Marine Corps.
