Matt Young

I am a wind and percussion arranger, show designer, and band director with more than 15 years of experience serving marching and concert programs across Georgia and South Carolina through my company, Matt Young Music. My arrangements are tailored to each ensemble's strengths, with competitive pricing designed to fit school budgets.

I currently serve as Director of Bands at Chestatee High School, where the marching band has placed in the top three in class for four consecutive years, earned multiple first-in-class placements, and won the first Grand Championship in school history in 2025. Prior to Chestatee, I spent seven years as Director of Bands at Buford High School and previously served at Westside Magnet School, West Forsyth High School, and Sumter High School.

As a performer, I marched with Carolina Crown, Court of Honor, Odyssey Percussion Theater, Atlanta CV, Alliance Drum and Bugle Corps, and the Atlanta Falcons Drumline.

I founded and served as Executive Director of Frequency Percussion, an independent indoor ensemble that earned two SAPA Independent A championships, three SAPA silver medals, and two WGI Independent A finalist placements.

I am an educational artist for Innovative Percussion and a member of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity.
