Overview

I am a freelance composer, arranger, and show designer based in Maineville, Ohio, working with marching bands, indoor ensembles, and drum corps across the United States through my company, MJI Soundscape Designs. My work spans music arranging, program coordination, show design, and audio engineering, and I bring a performer's perspective to everything I write and design.

My performing background includes four seasons as a tuba player with the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, where I served on the leadership team in my final year, and five seasons as a synthesizer player with Rhythm X Indoor Percussion, earning a silver medal in 2022 and a bronze medal in 2023. In 2024, I was selected as a member of the Bluecoats Fellowship, working alongside their sound design and music production team during their gold medal season.

I currently serve as Program Coordinator for the Licking Heights High School Marching Band and as Program Coordinator and Music Arranger for the Columbus Saints Drum and Bugle Corps, where I also hold the role of Assistant Corps Director.

My teaching work includes the brass and audio staff at William Mason High School and West Clermont High School, front ensemble and audio staff with ConneXus and Springboro High School Indoor Percussion, and two seasons on the brass staff with the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps.
