Overview

Since 1994, I have had the privilege of designing drill and coordinating program design for hundreds of high school and college marching bands, drum corps, winter guards and indoor percussion programs.  Since becoming a full-time pageantry designer in 2001, my work has been represented by groups at all levels of state and regional competition including the BOA, WGI, DCI, Drum Corps Japan, Drum Corps Europe, and WAMB.  I reside in beautiful Carmel, Indiana with my wife of 26 years, daughter, son, and our beloved terriers Jackson and Jayla.  Our daughter was a performer in the color guard and graduated from Carmel High School in 2024, and our son is currently a freshman percussionist at CHS.  In addition to being the Hound-band's biggest fans, my wife and I enjoy few activities more than supporting the CHS music programs however and whenever we can.

Work Experience

In addition to designing for accomplished groups, designing for developing programs and those ready to move to the next level has been a niche of which I have excelled and found a great deal of satisfaction, joy, and pride.  I sincerely enjoy solving unique challenges and enhancing strengths, regardless of budget, staffing, or student ability.

In 2002, I founded Creative Marching Solutions, Inc., gathering the talents of countless colleagues to provide band programs the opportunity to benefit from world-class design at any size, philosophy, budget, staffing, or rehearsal schedule.  We do this by not only offering custom services in all captions, but also through a large catalog of pre-designed music, drill, choreography, and textiles for marching band, indoor percussion and winter guard.  As of 2025, we have served over 1,500 band programs representing every US state.

Beginning in 2000, I had the great fortune to train as a visual judge for two years under the expert mentorship of the late Myron Rosander and Curtis Costanza.  I have been an active individual, ensemble/design analysis, and visual effect adjudicator throughout the US, including state championships in Arizona, Colorado, Louisiana, Mississippi, Pacific Northwest, and South Carolina.
