Overview

I am an in-demand percussion arranger who has written for numerous marching bands across the country. I currently maintain an active career as a percussionist, teacher, and arranger. My performance experience includes membership in the University of South Carolina Drumline (1992-1996), the front ensemble of Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps (1995), several rock bands, West African ballets, steel drum bands, and wind ensembles. I am currently a member of the Palmetto Concert Band under the baton of Dr. Scott Weiss.

Work Experience

I’ve spent the last 20 years working with many school percussion ensembles across North and South Carolina. I’ve been an instructor with the University of South Carolina Drumline (1997-2002), Swansea High School (2002-2005), Ridge View High School (1998-2016), and Co-Director of the USC Marching Percussion Camp (2001-03, 2005-2010). I also served as front ensemble instructor and associate director of the CWEA and CIPA gold medalist Verdigris independent indoor percussion ensemble (2006-2008).

I am currently the Director of Percussion at Dutch Fork High School and also work with numerous middle and high school programs around South Carolina. My wife and I live in Irmo, SC, with our daughters, Riley, Shannon, and Amelia Drew, and our three dogs, Rocket, Buddy, and Bootsy.
