David Stroud

I am the founder of Sun Dogz Design, LLC, a custom apparel company serving marching bands and performing groups across the country. I launched Sun Dogz in 2012 to combine my background in music education with my passion for graphic design, and it has grown into a full-service custom apparel operation for groups at every level.

With more than 20 years of experience as a band director, I bring a director's perspective to every design I create — I understand what bands need because I have spent my career working with them.

As Director of Bands at Newport Middle School since 2001, I have built a program recognized for consistent superior ratings at the North Carolina Music Performance Adjudication and selected as a performing ensemble at the North Carolina Music Educators Association Convention. I was honored as Teacher of the Year in 2003–2004 and am a National Board Certified Teacher and a member of the American School Band Directors Association.

I am also an active guest clinician and adjudicator in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, and have served as a conductor at the East Carolina University Summer Band Camp.
