Overview

I am a music arranger, composer, and adjudicator with nearly 30 years of experience working with marching bands and drum corps across the country through Chris Kilian Music. My approach is built on custom show design — I don't write catalog shows. Every production is written specifically for the ensemble performing it, with a focus on education, achievement, and music that challenges students while remaining within reach.

I began my career as a brass performer with the Bushwackers Drum and Bugle Corps in 1991, spending 14 seasons as a performer before serving as drum major for a decade. In 2009, I was inducted into the Bushwackers Hall of Fame and currently serve as its Chairman.

My arranging and design work spans ensembles at every competitive level, including roles with Fusion Core and Windsor Regiment. Most recently, I served as battery caption head for Big Spring High School, contributing to their Cavalcade of Bands Liberty A Conference Championship. I have been an active adjudicator across multiple circuits since 2011, and that evaluative perspective informs every show I design.

My work has recently expanded to include percussion direction and WGI Winds arranging and composition.
